Don't Deep Fry Wings Again

Welcome to the Sunday Scaries Fall Recipe Series where I highlight fall-inspired recipes that are simple, healthy, and delicious.

These buffalo wings are made in the air fryer (without oil) and are delicious even without the sauce. I served them with carrots, celery, cucumber, and ranch. They pair perfectly with a rainy football Sunday! 🍂🏈🍗

Air Fryer Buffalo Wings

Crispy air fryer wings

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Total Time: 12 minutes

Servings: 2

Ingredients

For the chicken:

  • 1 lb chicken wings

  • Salt & pepper

For the buffalo sauce (roughly):

  • 2/3 cup Franks RedHot

  • 1/4 cup butter of choice

  • 1 1/2 tbsp white vinegar

  • Sprinkle of garlic powder

Directions

Air fry chicken wings

  • Lightly salt and pepper the chicken wings on both sides.

  • Put the chicken thighs in the air fryer on 400 while you make the buffalo sauce.

  • Cook for 6 minutes on one side, flip, and air fry on the other side for 6 more minutes.

  • Chicken should be tender on the inside and crisp on the outside.

Air fryer buffalo wings

Make buffalo sauce

  • Combine Franks hot sauce, butter, white vinegar, and garlic powder in a saucepan on the stove on medium heat.

  • I recommend playing with the proportions of the sauce to your taste preference. The recipes I looked up recommended more butter but I didn't feel it needed any more.

Combine

  • Remove chicken wings from the air fryer, enjoy plain, or slather in sauce.

  • Enjoy!

Enjoy this delicious fall meal or snack!
