Nostalgic Basil Pesto

Ever since I can remember, my family would make pesto in the summer. We had basil plants in our backyard and the house would smell fantastic for a week. We didn't have a recipe but instead a list of ingredients and a delicious flavor we were tasting for.


I channeled those memories to replicate a delicious and simple basil pesto recipe. Feel free to adjust the proportions to your taste.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basil

  • 2 tbsp pine nuts

  • 1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • Salt to taste

Directions

  • Add basil, pine nuts, Parmigiano Reggiano, garlic, and olive oil to your high-speed blender or food processor. I used my Nutribullet and it worked well.

  • Blend and taste.

  • Adjust the proportions of any of the ingredients and salt to taste.
